Colonial Toys (1-6)

Life was tough for Colonial kids—rules were strict, supplies were scarce, and there wasn’t much time for play.  Yet somehow kids found ways to entertain themselves using scrounged materials and plenty of imagination.  History comes alive as students reconstruct toys from 1621-1776.

“A fabulous experience for our kids! It complimented our history unit beautifully!” -Jennifer Velling, 3rd/4th grade teacher

“It’s wonderful to see kids playing with their own creations rather than today’s expensive commercial toys. Everyone was successful and totally engaged.  -Patsy Jackson, 3rd/4th grade teacher
